2.5 miles there, 2.5 miles back with 32 pounds on your back if you choose. Can you make it and earn a patch?
Come join us afterward for a swim in the pool and socialize.
June 29th, 2024 @12:30 PM We will be at the North Augusta Greenway, starting point will be at the Greenway entrance near the Hammond Hill Pool.
The route will take us from the Hammond Hill pool to Knotty Pine road along the most shaded part of the greenway and back.
The idea
Shortly after Luca’s birthday we took a family trip to Stone Mountain. He had a spinal tap and chemotherapy the day before. He chose the hardest route up the mountain and earned it that day. Join us to earn our patches in commemoration of Luca.
The Patch
If you make the 5 miles with 32 pounds, you will earn a patch that will never be for sale. You will earn it. We will make exceptions for children under the age of 13, adults over the age of 60, and those with health problems. Everyone who signs up will get a t-shirt but only those who make it the full 5 miles with the weight or an exception will get a patch. Please ask one of the organizers for information on exceptions.
